Do you have a photograph for which I can write a story?
Shots. Cookies. Nuggets. Donuts. Life and stories come in different shapes, flavors, and servings. This time, with your photographs, I would like to write “Sho(r)ts for your shots”.
You – Send a photograph that you have clicked of anything that you think could carry a story. People, places, things, events, anything. If there is a tiny element of drama in your pic, you already have an espresso shot in the form of a story ready! Email it to dreamvendor(at)coffeeandstories(dot)com
Me (DreamVendor) – Will write a sho(r)t for your shot.
Copyright – The copyright of the photograph would be yours. The photo that you submit will be published along with your name and your website/blog address. The copyright of the story still remains with me, but you are free to share the story link.
Few questions on top of my head – answered.
1. How do I submit my photograph? How many can I send?
Email your photographs to dreamvendor(at)coffeeandstories(dot)com. Send as many as you want.
Send:
1. Photographs
2. Your name
3. Your blog/flickr/website URL
2. Will all the photographs that are submitted get a chance to be a story?
Would love that to happen, but nfortunately, no. I will have to be choosy to pick pics that would allow me to weave a story in my capacity.
3. Is there a deadline for me to send my photographs?
Send your photographs before 25th of a month (last week of a month).
4. Can I send somebody else’s photograph? My friend is a good photographer.
Although the copyright remains with the photographer, it would be ideal for you to send your own photographs.
5. How will I know if my photograph has been selected?
You will receive an email once your photograph is up on the www.coffeeandstories.com website along with the story.
6. Timeline for me to write a story?
Once a photograph is selected, I would give it two weeks (but I hope it would be less than that).
7. What is the point?
Absolutely nothing! I write a story and then browse for pics to add to my story. This time I’m just turning it around. I’m writing a story based on a photograph. Your photographs, instead of mine.
8. What if you receive inappropriate photographs?
With due respect, it would not find a place on the website!
9. What next?
Maybe create a video with your photographs and mesh the story and some original music to it. Makes it more interesting to download it to your smart phone and carry it around. Sounds crazy but I’m open to suggestions.
10. Is there any reward to this?
Hall of fame on the website? Just kidding. It is more of a collaborative effort to bring photography and storytelling together. I just wanted to try it with the reader’s photographs than my own.
